Setting up a Stalker (MAC) subscription

Lantern needs the same details as the app or box you already use with your subscription. This guide shows where to find them and where to enter them. It takes about two minutes.

1. What you need

DetailLooks likeNeeded?
Portal URLhttp://example.com/c/Always
MAC address00:1A:79:12:34:56Always
Serial numberAbout 13 letters and digitsOnly with some providers — see step 4

Your provider gave you the portal URL and registered the MAC address when you subscribed.

2. Find them in STB Emu

If you have been using STB Emu, everything is in its settings:

  1. Open STB Emu and press the Menu button on the remote (☰), then choose Settings.
Choose Settings, not Profile — the Profile entry in that menu only switches profiles and reloads the app.
  2. Choose Profiles, then select your profile.
  3. Open STB Configuration. The MAC address and the Serial number are listed there. Write both down.
  4. Go back one step and open Portal settings for the Portal URL.

Settings → Profiles → your profile → STB Configuration

Using a MAG box instead? The MAC address and serial number are printed on the label underneath it.

3. Enter them in Lantern

  1. Open Lantern and go to Settings.
  2. Under Subscription type, choose Stalker portal (MAC).
  3. Fill in the Portal URL and the MAC address. You can type the MAC without the colons.
  4. Leave Device serial number empty for now, and choose Save & connect.

When it works you will see “Connected” with the number of channels found, and Home fills up.

4. If you see “Device conflict – Serial Number mismatch”

Some providers tie a MAC address to the first device it was used on. Lantern then has to present the same serial number as that device.

A subscription normally works on one device at a time. If Lantern and your old app are both open, one of them may be signed out.
